This is going to make you nostalgic. The decades prior to the 60s were considerably different from the times we are living in today. Take a look at 16 pictures of India's past juxtaposed with her present!

Founded in 1851, the cathedral still looks as majestic. Interestingly, two new domes of this cathedral were inaugurated in 2009.

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre was one of the most horrific chapters in our history. It remained untouched for a long time until finally, a memorial was made in 1951.

The area surrounding the lake has become dirty with pilgrims littering. Sadly, this is the state of most sacred lakes in India.

8. Aurangzeb's Mosque, Varanasi, in the 40s

Many concrete buildings have been constructed around the Fort area in Mumbai, but we're glad that the charm of South Bombay around Rajabai Clock Tower is pretty much intact.

It's unbelievable that the heart of Chandni Chowk could ever be that isolated. Today, the road opposite the Gurudwara is full of vehicles and street vendors!
